We explored how each of us is part of a system — and how do we each play our part so that the system stays healthy and allows all of us to thrive? When things get hard, it's easy to slip into react mode — 𝙨𝙚𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨 𝙖𝙨 𝙬𝙚 𝙖𝙧𝙚, 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙣𝙚𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙡𝙮 𝙖𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙖𝙧𝙚. That really resonated with me – given my previous work and disciplines I have been drawn to. As well as the type of messaging I have been putting out there, via workshops, posts, and even my (soon to be revived) YouTube channel. Here's what I'm convinced of: 𝗪𝗲'𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗿𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲 𝟮𝟭𝘀𝘁-𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝟮𝟬𝘁𝗵-𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴. While we're busy fixing isolated problems, everything is interconnected. • Team conflicts ripple through organizations. • Supply chains collapse from events halfway across the globe. • Remote work reshapes entire cultures. For hashtag#leaders, especially, hashtag#systemsawareness means creating space — space to pause, reflect, and become aware of how we each interpret what we see. Because we're all seeing from our own lens. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵? Fix the symptom. Put out the fire. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 AWARENESS 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵? See the web. Understand the patterns. Address the root. 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 AWARENESS 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂: ✅ 𝗦𝗲𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗯𝘃𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 - Performance issues might be structure problems ✅ 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 - Surf the waves instead of drowning in them ✅ 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 - Not just individual success, but sustainable success for all. We also got to artculate for ourselves: 🌀 Clarity of purpose. 🧭 Knowing who the "I" is, in the midst of the "we." ❤️ Being willing to challenge our own perspectives. 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴. 𝗜𝘁'𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗼. Still unpacking. Still grateful.
